Finding the job you want...
The first thing you have to decide when you leave high school is where you want your life to be heading. What kind of job do you want? Do you have a very specific career in mind or are you just aiming in a certain direction?
The link below will take you to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics website, which you will use to fill in Section One on your "Planning for the Future" Task sheet. Once there, you can search specific occupational groups that might interest you and find a specific job that you think you would like to have in the future. You may also use Naviance to continue your research. Try to keep in mind all of the things you want to be able to afford when searching for a job. Once you think you have found the perfect job, make note of the average annual salary. The US Bureau of Labor statistics has the most up to date list of salaries, so use this link for that portion of the project. You will use this to calculate your monthly salary on your Task sheet.
